We are seeking a talented and self-directed Senior Network Engineer to join our Tempe, Arizona headquarters. This person will be responsible for the internal, customer-facing, and vendor-facing networks of Aurora, along with highest level helpdesk escalation.

We are one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the payment processing industry with offices in Tempe, Arizona and Moorpark, CA. After increasing in size in the recent year, we continue to be well positioned for continued expansion and success. We need high performing, fully redundant, and well managed internal networks to support our aggressive growth.

This is a fast-moving job with a long backlog of projects. The ideal candidate will have experience working in small, fast-growth companies with broad service stacks and little day to day micromanagement. The ideal candidate will be accustomed to long and atypical hours (50-60 hour weeks will not be abnormal), 24/7/365 on-call unless time off has been pre-arranged, and daily changing priorities. Experience with a large number of services across multiple business units will be extremely helpful. A generalist, or a “near-master of all trades”, would be the best possible addition to our team. The position will report to the Senior Technology Officer and may provide assistance and management to several helpdesk administrators, but daily personnel management is not necessarily an essential job responsibility.
Due to the on-call nature of the position, Aurora is interested in candidates located in the Phoenix, AZ metro. Some travel to our other offices or datacenters, primarily Southern California, will be required. We would also entertain a candidate willing to work from our Moorpark, CA office, and in exceptional circumstances, would consider a remote candidate (US only) with a flexible travel schedule. Overall travel is expected to be no more than 15% and will generally be for less than 3 days at any time.

We are primarily a Brocade (legacy Foundry) shop and prefer an engineer with Brocade experience. We are continuing to expand our use of Arista within our networks and prefer some Arista experience as well. However, we will consider experience on all equivalent platforms.

Advanced level Windows Server administration
Advanced level Linux administration
Experience with both Hyper-V and VMWare
PostgreSQL, mySQL, and Microsoft SQL administration, setup, and DBA experience. Experience with horizontally scalable database platforms like CockroachDB or Google Cloud Spanner will also be helpful but are not absolutely required.
