    Stay away from SSDNodes!

    Stay away from SSDNodes! They're extremely ruthless when it comes to their ' company policies ' and they will screw you over once they have your money. The owner, Matt, blatantly ignored my email for the past 6 days. He also told his staff, Arun, to ignore my ticket since it hasn't been answered for 4 days. Do not get trapped in their yearly plan. That's how they get you. They wouldn't issue a refund under any circumstances even though it was requested within 3 days from start of service. ( simply because I'm not a first time customer ) I'm out of $119.99!

    My server's disk read / write is a joke. https://i.imgur.com/acgZDGi.png

    It was nowhere near what was advertised on their website.

    Run away as fast as you can. Seek other providers such as Digital Ocean / Vultr / Hetzner / Linode / etc instead of SSDNodes.

    @Matt Connor

    I want a refund on my current invoice. I didn't plan on bringing attention to public until you decided to ignore me for almost a week.

    I asked Arun to move me to a different node or to fix the low disk read/write as seen here https://i.imgur.com/acgZDGi.png and he refused to do anything about it because it was perfectly ' normal '. How is it normal when I see a result that someone else posted as seen here: https://serverscope.io/trials/96GV on another forum?

    I asked to have my credit balance transfered from old account to new account. My request was refused until I asked for a refund on my new invoice.

    To top it off, there were other incidents in the past that made me feel unsure about your business.

    If this is your first time with the provider why did you go ahead and pre-pay a full years worth of service?

    Because paying yearly ( $9.99/mo ) is a lot cheaper than paying $19.99/mo.

    Why did you blur out the support tickets? Why not go ahead and post them in full here? It just seems fishy/one-sided with the support replies blurred out.

    Wasn't too fond about posting a screenshot of me begging desperately for a refund, but here you go. ;_;

    I am well aware that it is company policy... but I literally asked them for a refund within 3 days of service... and I've only used my server for one day at most.

    I was polite in all of my tickets / emails.

    The only email where I was remotely ' rude ' on ( out of frustration / anger ) was today's email. I called him a jerk for ignoring my email for the past 5-6 days. ( I know for a fact that he's blatantly ignoring my emails because I see him post a thread promoting SSDNodes on 7/30/2018 )

    So, you have another account and server with them?

    Did you read their policy about 14 days refund policy for new account only?

    Yeah, I had some credit left on my old account.

    I wasn't aware of what was written in their terms of service until recently. To be honest... no one really read that stuff until someone brings it up.

    That means nothing when it comes to the legal stuff. You agreed to those terms - which means they don't owe you a penny. The lesson you can take away from this is don't prepay until you're happy the service is what you expect.

    Hey there,

    I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been experiencing. I wanted to take a moment and help explain the situation.

    I see that you have 5 accounts with us, the oldest was created in November 2017. You also received four refunds from us in the past: two full refunds in November 2017, one partial refund as account credit in November 2017, and one full refund in June 2018.

    I also see that you opened 24 tickets across those accounts, ranging from seeking support on general Linux issues (outside of the scope of support we’re required to provide), questions about refunds and questions about the details of the CPU on the host your VM is on. One of your responses in a ticket caught my eye: https://imgur.com/vgKaKvU (cropped to hide your name and personal details). Arun provided you quite a bit of free out-of-scope support to help answer all your questions and make sure you got up and running without any problems.

    You also requested we move the credit from one of your accounts to another. This isn’t our standard business practice as it leads to confusion with accounting (and higher costs on our end), but we did make another exception and grant your request.

    I spun up a server on the same host as the one you were on, along with the same OS and specs, and had entirely different results:

    https://serverscope.io/trials/95ra#system
    https://serverscope.io/trials/2d2d#system

    Our refund policy is very generous, and we’ve had problems in the past with people abusing it. We changed our refund policy in June to only apply to new clients for their first server, as is explained (https://www.ssdnodes.com/features/) and (https://www.ssdnodes.com/pricing/). We understand that new clients trying our platform may have requirements that don’t fit what our service provides, so we’re more than happy to provide a full refund if that’s the case. Outside the refund period, we provide a prorated account credit, so customers never lose the funds they put in.

    Ah ~ so you'd respond to me when your company reputation is on the line. Very professional.

    In regards to your serverscope trial... whatever. You're the owner of SSDNodes so could always bend the server performance to your liking whenever you feel like it. I had a similar result ( January 2018 ) https://serverscope.io/trials/zwem and it wasn't resolved until Felipe came in the picture. I'm not the only one who experienced the low disk / write. A simple google search would lead you to those posts / reviews.

    When a business goes out of their way to write ' honest value ' or ' honest pricing ' on their website... that should have been a big red flag. I was too dumb to realize that at first.

    I'm done with you.

    https://i.imgur.com/acgZDGi.png > 550 MB/s write speed is actually excellent for a VPS. The read speed is slightly low though in the benchmark.

    For real-world usage, 23 MB/s won't mean anything either. It will not slow down normal operations. Yes, benchmarks are benchmarks though.
