Registering Name Servers at RegisterFly
[ I'm copying idologic_aw's format in hopes to make this a bit easier to follow/fit in with others. ]
Getting there
1. This step is straightforward - just go directly to http://registerfly.com .
Logging into your account
2. On the yellow bar spanning the upper half of the page, there is a LOGON link. Click it to sign in to, or create your account.
3. Enter your User Name and Password, and select to remember it if you wish. I would advise you to be careful when selecting to have your password remembered -- if someone accesses your account, changes your whois, and takes the domain, your only proof against them is a log [ Reports > Login Report ] that RegisterFly keeps in its admin panel.
Choosing a domain
4. Now inside your account, just click whichever domain you want to setup a nameserver for.
5. Under the DNS Management area on the main page, select Register/Edit/Delete nameservers for this domain.
Creating the first nameserver
6. The first area of this page isn't what you're interested in, so avert your eyes downward toward Register a Name Server:.
7. In the first input box, put the third-level domain name to use on your nameserver. This is generally 'ns' or 'ns1'.
8. The dropdown box next to this will let you change to a different domain if you suddenly change your mind about which one you're creating the nameserver for.
9. In the next input box, add your IP address that you will be using for your primary nameserver.
10. Click Submit:.
Creating the second nameserver
11. To create additional nameservers, repeat steps 7 through 10. It is generally recommended to have at least two nameservers.
Final thoughts
12. You've now created your very own nameservers! Now wait up to 72 hours for them to fully propogate, and you can then begin using them!0

Faraz: It is 72 hours. Or is that on the RegisterFly website?
Additionally, I removed your signature to try and keep this place clean...0

Sheps, that's what they say on the website. I was just referring to it as not to confuse people.

When we transfer the nameserver domain to another registrar, do we need to manually transfer the nameservers ns1.domain.com & ns2.domain.com?
Also, how to edit the contact details of the nameservers?..0

I have chosen this registrar, I like its services. But they suspended my account. They say my ip is coming from Cyprus but I insist that I am located in Russia. Moderators, does my ip really look like from Cyprus?

Why would they suspend anyone if they are from Cyprus?

Hello there,
I'm new here, just bought a VPS hosting with registerfly, but this plan only give 1 IP, may i know how to register private nameserver which need 2 DNS with only 1 IP?
Is it true that the registration needs 7 to 10 business days?
They said needs 12 - 24 hour to set up my host, but already pass 24 hours, still setting...
Hopefully someone can help me here
Thank you!

Where to get the IP for the nameserver ?
i mean, does this IP come from the Host ?
what if i change my Host, will i have to edit the name server IP of ns1.domain.com at registerfly then wait untill it's activated or what ?0

The NS2 is just for a backup if the default path or the NS1 has a problum.
You could have 100 domains at the same IP and still have the same

Best thing is leave the site at both places for a few days and ya won't
get any 404s..0

Yea.... I lost like 6 domains because of reg fly and not to mention a big mess from godaddy just taking them... I despise godaddy more then Microsoft... or the gas prices... OK... that's my opinion
I stumbled on this because the mess registerfly caused me a few years ago I had to make some quick choices and they were not as good as I thought, and now doing research to figure where to go next.0

I think this thread is somewhat redundant by now.
I could tell you a joke about UDP. But I'm not sure you would get it!0
