    Hostwithlove v jolt.co.uk

I'm looking for a UK account and have narrowed it down to 2. Hostwithlove and jolt.co.uk

Are there any tangible differences between the two companies and does anyone have experience with both to draw a comparison?

I have 10-15 small UK wordpress sites with less than 1000 visitors each per week.

My main goals are fast loading and good support.

    Many thanks

Whoever you decide to go with I would approach with caution. I'm sure you will get some feedback on your shortlist but you won't know for sure what your service is going to be like until you start using it so I recommend you go monthly to begin with until you have confidence in the service and support. I'd also check about free migrations to get your sites moved over.

Who ever you choose I wish you all the best finding a good home for your sites.

Jolt has been around longer and is a more well known name, although this is probably due to their advertising campaigns. They were originally the UK arm of WebHostingBuzz before splitting into two separate companies.

Being honest, having a close eye on the UK hosting industry for some time now, I had not heard of HostWithLove. It looks like they're a company based in Singapore and charge in US dollars. So personally, if you're based in the UK yourself, I would always choose a UK based hosting provider over one which just has servers here in the UK. That way you have UK billing, UK support staff, UK support hours (where 24/7 support isn't offered or the off-peak support is outsourced), etc.

I have nothing against HostWithLove but would almost certainly choose Jolt over HostWithLove in your shoes, unless of course you're from Singapore yourself and prefer to deal with a local company having servers in the UK.

    So my questions would be:

    1) Where are you based?
    2) For what reasons are you leaving your existing provider?

Thanks. I am UK based. I'm leaving my current host as they have just double their price and I've been experiencing short bursts of downtime.

For WordPress sites, I would choose the one who uses LiteSpeed Web Server + LSCache (PHP caching for WordPress from LiteSpeed themselves). That is one of the main things to look out for anyway. Second would be resources. Some providers offer more CPU/MEM than others. The more you have the less chance of your website failing to load, etc.

Okay, in that case I would almost certainly choose Jolt over an overseas company. Or at least another company here in the UK; we have a large amount of providers here of varying sizes, many offering a quality service. Unless there's a specific reason to choose an overseas company I don't see any advantage, only disadvantages (e.g. what are your rights when dealing with an overseas company?). Just my personal preference though. Best of luck with your search!

    +1 for host with love.
    Jansen is very knowladgeable.
Server uptime is always very good in the UK. (They use Host Dime in the UK) don't think they have even had any major outages. Servers are white label and so are the IP's.

I am glad we managed to make your shortlist!

In all honesty, the requirements you stated are very minimal and I'd reckon a lot of other hosting companies would be able to meet them as well.

Just to clarify, 0% of our support is outsourced and we are fully staffed 24/7/365.

Also, while it is true some people would prefer to work with a local company, I'd say it is a stretch to generalize that preference to everyone. Considering the current global landscape, transborder services are something that is already predominantly common and will just continue to be so. As an illustration, majority of our customers (more than 95%) are from US and Europe (Note: Europe, meaning the continent, not to be confused with EU, so yes that does include UK as well).

Well if you are from UK you might be better off with the UK based provider as Kloudhost suggested, especially if their support is also based in UK. I think you would be in familiar hands that way.

Litespeed w/ LSCache is very good for wordpress. I don't see jolt mentioning litespeed anywhere.

HostWithLove offers litespeed w/ LScache. Personal experience, own the lowest reseller package where I run my own wordpress websites in separated cPanels.
Everything has been flawless, and the servers are long from being overloaded

Your requirements are easily attainable by any UK company (or non-UK) depending on your preference for support.

One thing I'd suggest if you aren't sure which one to go with, hit up their live chat or helpdesk and ask questions. You can usually gauge which one is best suited to you via these methods.

Another vote for HostWithLove here. I've been a customer for 9 months now, I decided to switch to them so I could get out of the hosting business myself and just focus more on the web management aspect of what I love to do.

All my sites and my clients sites are speedy and support is always responsive and helpful. I haven't had to open tons of tickets, but the ones I have opened have been handled efficiently. They might not have the fastest initial response time (mine has varied from 4 minutes to 7 hours) but they don't use "we have gotten your ticket and will get back to you soon" messages for their initial reply...you can pretty much count on a resolution or a detailed course of action on the first response (from my experience).

I was a little uneasy when I decided to go with them 9 months ago, but so far I haven't regretted it at all...decent prices and excellent service so far.

If the majority of your sites/accounts are WordPress based then I'd choose a host running LiteSpeed web server over anything else

    Hi,

To clarify, we started rolling out LSCache about 2-3 months back in response to customer feedback as well as our internal testing which shows LiteSpeed's WordPress caching plugin outperforming other caching plugins such as W3TC, Super Cache, WP Rocket, etc. We believe it to be a fabulous addition to our software suite.

All servers should already have it enabled since 2-3 months back. If you are not seeing it enabled or are unable to utilize the WordPress plugin that accompanies it, please feel free to open a ticket with us so we can assist you on it.

    Regards,
    Cody

EDIT: I was able to locate your ticket from 139 days back (about 4.5 months). I tasked Jansen to update the ticket to notify you of the implementation.
