WHTwiki:Wikiquette
Wikiquette is wiki etiquette. WHTwiki follows these principles:
- Be polite. Treat other people with respect; discuss issues, not members. Remember that the tone you intend might not be apparent with only words, especially when English isn’t everyone’s first language. Be especially considerate of those who are new to wikis.
- Assume good faith. If you see a mistake and it isn’t blatant spam or vandalism, assume that the member didn’t mean any harm. Engage in constructive discussion and try to work as part of a team.
- Discuss. If you edit something, provide an explanation in the Summary box. If other members ask questions about what you edited, respond to them – politely, of course.
- Be gracious. Remember that you are not always right. Nobody is, and we all have our biases. Be willing to concede when other people make valid points that contradict yours. If you can’t do that, at least politely agree to disagree, and then accept the decision that an admin makes if necessary.
