Unlike iHost, iPanel is targeted towards the free web hosting market for companies who provide free web hosting. iPanel is designed to help these companies to deliver free web hosting automated account creation, and to force web hosting ads by using the cPanel / WHM control panel.

iPanel also includes a helpdesk and support for multiple payment gateways, including features for tasks such as an inactivity scanner and a server monitor. iPanel also includes the feature to upgrade a free web hosting account to a paid web hosting account automatically with the ability to charge for web hosting services.

Overall iPanel is targeted towards free web hosting companies, whereas iHost, the developer's other billing and automation application, is targeted towards paid web hosting and automated account provisioning with cPanel.
