Cloudstack is an open source cloud computing software that allows service providers to offer Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS). Cloudstack is licensed under the GPLv2 license and is sponsored by Cloud.com a company who provides commercial support and service.

The Cloudstack cloud computing software is freely downloadable, redstributable and customizable.

Features:

  • Supported Hypervisors - KVM, Xenserver, VMware
  • Dynamic Workload Management - Automates the distribution of compute, network, and storage resource across the physical infrastructure while adhering to defined policies on load balancing, data security, and compliance
  • Virtual Resource Management and Isolation - Memory, CPU, network, and storage resources are both available and isolated from one end user to another within the cloud
  • Web Interface - AJAX web interface for performing management tasks
  • Usage Server - Provides accounting of resource usage designed to be connected to billing systems for metered usage billing
  • Virtual Machine Snapshots and Rollback - Backup and create copies of virtual machines
  • In-Browser Console Access - Fully functional virtual machine console securely accessible via a web browser
