About page
Most business websites have an About or About Us page. Many web hosting company websites do, but many others don't. In an industry where anyone can set up an online business with very little money or preparation, the About page can set serious companies apart and help consumers choose to use their services.
In addition to the information on the About page the tone can help consumers decide if the company is for them. Formal or informal, businesslike or light — choose the tone that would appeal to your target audience. No matter the tone, avoid empty superlatives but instead provide clear information.
What type of content should go on the About page?

Company facts
The basic facts about each company answer questions that potential clients may have. They also help create credibility. If this information is included on another page, mention it on the About page and link to the page with the details.
- Where the company is located
- Where the servers are located
- Whether the company owns or leases its hardware and what type of hardware is used
- The size of the company: how many staff members and clients the company has (optional)
Company background
If the company has a history, the history shows that the company is an established one. For a new company, this section can be omitted.
- How long the company has been in business
- How the company has grown and evolved
- Any company name or ownership changes
Company staff
The experience and other qualifications of the staff owner and employees are useful information. Staff photos and short bios add a personal touch for smaller companies that offer a personal connection as one of their selling points.
Specific market or niche
Does the company cater to small or large businesses? Personal website owners? A particular niche? Describe it here, being careful not to create too narrow a focus. The goal is to have people who fit in that specific market or niche know that this is the company for them without having others whose needs the company could meet leave at this point.
Links to other parts of the site
Make it easy for site visitors to get to your web hosting plans, your testimonials, your Contact page, etc., from the About page.
