Cloud hardware

So after reading OnApp's post here: http://onapp.com/blog/post/hardware-shopping-list

What do you guys think of their shopping list? What would you change, and why?

Just to emphasise - that is just an example of how a shopping list could look. We've got around 80 hosts running OnApp now, and we've seen pretty much 80 different configs

Would you mind elaborating on what setups would work best for different scenarios?

We're looking to enter the cloud market, with onapp. But we're still working on hardware planning.

The main things we're looking for are:
1. Growth
2. Failover (while still remaining cost effective)

The main use will be similar to vps.net

We just placed an order on the Dell PowerEdge C series for our LotusCloud VM expansion scheduled for next quarter. You have to call them to consult with someone in their cloud computing department who will help you choose the hardware. The pricing is very reasonable, much to my surprise.

We used a NetApp clustered SAN for our storage with onapp. Works a storm and worth every cent for the blistering IO and low storage latency.

The set up on the list (http://onapp.com/blog/post/hardware-shopping-list) is actually a great set up for these two objectives.
You can obviously start with a lower amount of Hypervisors.
In terms of your set up, are you looking at h/w or s/w SAN options?
