You can get domains for less than $10 a year, that's less than $1/month, for the sake of a few bucks, I'd rather pay $10 for a year from a reputable provider such as NameCheap, then pay let's say $3/year from someone I've never heard of.

Be careful with that special promotions.
Because many of companies offer domain for example for 3.99USD for a 1st year, and then renewal is 20-30 USD.

Some average price is around 10USD, and follow special promotions, u maybe can get it lower. But again, be very careful with their special deals and check hidden fees, etc.

Some companies offer FREE domains with their hosting services. Be careful that you check the terms very carefully though.

Cheapest dot in is 1usd from Hostestate.
Cheapest dot info is 2.85usd from Active-Domain.
Cheapest dot com is 5.99usd from Lemonox.
Cheapest dot net is 6.49usd from eWebdomains.

Not sure if the offers are still available.

I have bought domains from Namecheap, Underhost and Hostestate. Namecheap is the only one with free SSL. It also has the fastest propagation speed.

Never ever get a free domain that comes with a hosting plan. I had a very bad experience with a hosting company that has got millions of sites and I lost my premium domain name because of my stupidity and greed.

many domain provider will give you domain in less than 3$ but after a year it will cost you around the 15-20$. So while registration please check there are any hidden charges or not. And also check for the any promotional code

If you need like 10 domains, try Godaddy bulk pricing or combine it with promo codes. At least they are fastest with registration and DNS changes.

    Hunting offers... :)

Personally, I like to catch the best offers of the moment. There are big sites such as godaddy and 1and1 that have very low prices for different domains.

    1and1 has now for .info and .com/net/org - $0.99 and $4.99
    http://order.1and1.com/links/domains.html

Godaddy has now info at $1.99

strange how some domain reg. update their DNS nameservers every few minutes. godaddy is like 2 x per day if your lucky. I have waited the full 48 hours on MANY OCCASSIONS (been with them since 2002 on some domains). It just sucks because it interrupts the creative flow when your trying to get a new site up and running, and the creative juices stop flowing after a long 2 day wait

Godaddy is the cheapest. These days there is a offer which let you register .com domains for $1.
