    samba eats...

    eh, im a little stuck...

i got my new nux server to show up in the server listing under windows, but i cant seem to connect to it. ive given some users permission to view it but windows insists on a username/password and whatever i provide it doesnt like.

is there like a very simple crash course in getting this to work? im a little stuck.

You need to send the passwords in plain text, so in your registry add the DWORD with a value of 1 to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\VxD\Vnetsup

BTW - I am presumeing your running Win 98

eh, cuz i have a license for it...

im trying to dump it now though, im just not comfortable enough with nux to go "cold turkey" so im trying to set up some redunancy first.
