Hello all,
I am still looking for my first host
Has anyone had any experience with Hostxnow, I like the idea that you can sign up for free (with your own domain it seems like?) and build up packages as you go and you can pay monthly by paypal. All what I am looking for.
But I havent heard much about them. My needs are quite basic to start with. I need to build one wordpress site and another using some web building tool, hopefully one which comes with Hostxnow CPanel. They are both personal sites for now, but might want to expand later on to more sites.
Can anyone provide some feedback on this hosting company, reliablity, tech support, honesty, trust and performance?
Thanks

I personally have never heard of Hostxnow, but I have noticed few threads in offers section about their service.
I see Hostxnow uses eUKHost as their server provider.
Are you looking for your hosting service to be located in UK?
You can always try the free plan they offer and see what kind of service they offer before making the final purchase.

I would feel more confortable trying them before paying the monthly charge. This is the first provider I have found who will allow me to try the service with my own register domain. Are there any others who offer this? This alone would probably temp me to go with them.
Yes I am based in the UK, I am looking for shared hosting, the paid options seem to have the host in the UK, but the free one seems to be somewhere else in europe.
Thanks for your input

ALL hosting providers allow you to use your own registered domain name.
You can always give them a try and see how it works out for you.
You may also check the offers section for other providers that are located in UK that may accumulate your needs.

You can do this with most webhosting providers, you can pay monthly, register your domains, transfer and redirect your domains, with most and if not all providers to whom will support the option.

Usually that is a critical tactic to gain more sales, though, what if you end up not satisfied with them and want to move? Do not expect them to give you the domain for free

You can use your own domain name with any provider without any costs. But if you are referring to free domain registration, not all providers offer that, but you can always register a domain name for a low charge.
Providers tend to offer free domain registration for marketing purposes and to attract customers.

I haven't heard much about HostXnow, from my understanding they are a relatively new company. However I do see one of they're representatives posting on here all of the time (so to me that is a plus).
Have you contacted them yet? Presales questions are always important.

Hostxnow does not offer anything special or unique based on hosting features compared to other hosting providers based on the information I you see on their website.

Many providers will give you a 30 day money back guarantee anyway....so I wouldn't make a choice for any provider based on a free trial.
If you get recommendations from here, and do some searching on here, then you won't go far wrong.

I remember a long time ago when I started hosts were bad about offering domain registration but they were not registrars and would register the domain in their name and some would even keep the domain if things went sour. So you would pay for it but still didn't own it and since you didn't own it you couldn't even get it from them if you wanted it. Dirty trick that I always frowned on and warned people about.

Was that really necessary? OP did not request the information. But, yes, we have a few servers with eUKhost. =)

We have updated the Server Location section in our billing system. You can choose UK or Europe. USA will be available soon.

We offer a small free hosting plan only. We do not offer a free domain with any of our hosting plans. However, we do offer free domain registration with all of our paid hosting accounts when paying yearly.

We do not register domains in our name. All domains are registered using the clients details from our billing system (WHMCS).

We do not do that. To get free domain registration with us you would have to pay yearly for your hosting plan. Basically, domain registration is included in the price. Once the year is up you will have to renew your domain as normal. Nothing dishonest about that.
If you have any other question, please email us at sales@hostxnow.com.
Regards,
Chris.
