Sony Vegas Pro 9 HELP!!!

I make mixes and post them on youtube. They are simple 3 to 4 minute videos with a picture. When I render the file, it finishes rendering and it is 853MB and it isn't supposed to be this big. I read online somewhere on how to fix this problem but can't find it anymore. With it being a 853MB file, it takes like 8 hours to upload it. Can someone please help me with this? I would greatly appreciate it.
