cs 1.6 dedicated server

I read the topic <cs 1.6 dedicated server connectio>, I'm thinking about creating a server but I'm newbie on that stuff, so I need to be sure if my calculations are correct or not :/

CPU:
Triple-Core 2.3GHz
Cache: 3.5MB

RAM:
x2 2GB(2x1) 1333MHz

Hard Disc:
10,000RPM SATA2
Buffer: 16MB

Sadly, DSL in Greece is a bit crapy at the moment, so I'll have uplink around 2Mbps. (Connection cant be upgraded)

Can this connection / system afford to open 3 servers of 10-12players and if not what I need to do?

Sorry about my low english level, i hope i was understandable.

When your shopping for a game server, make sure to pick a location that is near you and your friends. You will have issues with lactency if your playing from a distance.

I would not suggest hosting your own server, but to rent a VPS and install the game server on there.

Better yet, rent one from a reputable gameserver provider, I like http://www.gameservers.com/.

This is more than enough depending on what FPS your server will be running at. I used to serve CS and CS1.6 servers, for 1000FPS you will be looking at an average load of 20-30%~ per core. Although as a general rule of thumb I'd have at least 1GB memory per core, especially if you plan on running 3 servers simultaneously. You'll also need to specify affinity on each server instance to balance the load. If you're just running a standard server without 1000FPS performance requirements then you can do that on a single core 3GHZ Xeon.
