Hosts are not allowed to post their offers here. That being said what you haven been offered looks like a pretty fair deal. You can probably find a better price but its not going to be a huge savings. The KVM included is nice.

Oh sorry. I'm kind of new here. Is there any place on the forums where people can reply to my request? The offer I got is from CoreNetworks. The only thing I'm worrying about is server management. Any tips?

Give the community some time and I am sure people will reply with names of companies they have good experiences with.

One thing I always recommend. Once you narrow down your options to say 5 companies. Give each of them a call or open a live chat in the middle of the night. A lot of companies say they offer 24/7 support but when it comes time to actually need help in the middle of the night, not everyone is really there. You can probably eliminate a few from the list by seeing who doesnt answer the call at 2am.

Good luck.

What I meant was, if there was a board on the forums where people could post their offers then I would just post a thread there. But what you said works too and yeah, I'm not in any big rush so I will let people post.

I am going to try that. I got a few companies in mind but no one seems to be able to compete with the offer I got. But tonight, I will send an email in middle of night and see when I get a reply.

Thanks for all your help

Well if that server is a core2quad @ 2.4 Ghz, then it is a q6600. There are many providers that can offer much better than that for the same price. But it really depends on the quality of network/management you want. A few that come to mind are Burstnet (your can get a q9550 for a bit less, or core i7 960 for that price, both with more ram) - and Hivelocity. For a few bucks more ($185) Hivelocity currently has an offer for a Xeon x3460, with 8 GB Ram, 2 x 500 GB SAS and 10 TB bandwidth. The x3460 is more than twice as fast as the q6600 - and it's a real server grade machine (Dell Poweredge). Another one is turnkeyinternet, they always have offers for q9550's and core i7's with 8-12 GB ram that are less than the offer above.

Yes. It is a Q6600.

Mhm I looked at BurstNET, but they charge $50 for Remote Access and KVM. And $20 for the RAM upgrade. So it equals out. I have also heard many mixed reviews about them. About their network and support is not the greatest. However, their servers are managed.

I will look into Hivelocity. I'm just trying to keep it under $175 because I have to pay for WHMCS and SolusVM which is $22. Trying to keep monthly payments around $200.

I will also look at TurnKeyInternet.

One question, do you know anything about the Network and Support of the last 2 you mentioned?
The one thing I'm finding is most people don't offer Remote Access and KVM as part of the original package.

That's not a bad deal - but you can have better. I kind of hate telling people how much they can get for so little because it's just less and less profit for us providers when people are cheap.

Well when you are a new and solo person starting up a company, funds are going to be at a minimum so budgeting is always important. But yeah, I completely understand where you are coming from. And also, if you don't give the new guys a chance, then how will this industry grow and expand when all the big guys are taking in all the money and clients, leaving the smaller people sink to the bottom and have to close. And them it'll just become a monopoly.

It is a good idea to go read the Rules, because you might broke them through ignorance. Otherwise how much commitment do you expect on this 100 Mbps port?

Why do you need a ram upgrade with burst?

http://www.nocster.net/sale.shtml

They have quads starting at $99 with 8 GB ram. I use them for a number of projects, and the network has been surprisingly good for the price the last few years. As to support, they are not the best - just depends on the level of support you need.

Turnkeyinternet, I have not used, I just see their offers a lot, and they offer everything you need with faster hardware for less. But I cannot speak to their support.

Hivelocity, I used years ago, and the support was OK, but I've heard they have improved a lot, and they have some smoking deals at the moment. Out of the three, they would have the best quality hardware and most likely best support (just check their reviews in this forum).
