Well, the first one has a faster drive and more ram. The second has a faster CPU and more space. Of course the speed of the SSD drive might make up for the slight advantage in CPU power, as it will reduce I/O wait times. So it's a tough call; but if it we're me I'd go with option one - more ram and faster I/O.

what about this one?
AMD Opteron
Dual-Core AMD Opteron 1216 2x 2.4GHz
6 GB
2 x 500 GB SATA II
100Mbps
$ 118.00
That would be the best of the 3 right?

Don't know if it's really worth the extra $20 - the 1216 is only marginally faster than the 1214. It really depends on what you need though. However, faster I/o devices are more meaningful than a few Mhz faster CPU.

What is your budget? For those money ($20-$30 more/less) you can get:
Core i3 530 with 4-8 GB RAM, 500 GB HD, 100 Mbit connection, KVM-over-IP included any much more. Just search around.

I think the First one is preferable.
Shell in some more money and get a better CPU and more Disk Space

Well, I think the first AMD Athlon 64 with 8 Gb Ram would be fast compare to the other one with 4 GB ram on behalf its cheap.
