Hey guys, right now I've been plaqued with downtime/slow servers, so I need a new shared host.

What will I be hosting?

Simple: 4-5 Wordpress sites
No more than 500 visitors per day (24 hr period) most likely <300

What am I looking in for?

-USA based servers
-Speed - I want my site to load fast, can't stand slow servers cause some guy is raping the whole servers CPU
- Auto installer durr (softactulous preferably)
-Cpanel/Direct Admin (I like thos panels)
-Good support


So far I'm thinking

-DowntownHost
-HawkHost


What would you guys recommend?

I think the key would be what your budget is, and also what YOUR minimum requirements are in terms of disk space, and your current monthly data transfer ... it would then be easier to perhaps give you a recommendation based on that.

All the above hosting companies do not offer unlimited hosting - i.e are non-overselling companies -- which will give good performance for your websites.
Apart from above there are several other hosts offering services out there.. but then you need to research on them..

Do you have a preference on the location of the servers in the US, or, just as long as they are based in the US?

Hey guys, some more info, space/tranfer is not a concern to me as even the cheapest plan on most hosts will be sufficient for me.

Location of data centers doesn't really matter, just us based.

So far I;m thinking hawkhost, they have a 40% of deal.

Yep, but its from hawkhost which seem to have a pretty good rep around here. I think I'll try them out, if they suck, Ill just refund.

I second that. There is no host which is "perfect" or "good" in the sense that they may not be satisfactory at times(e.g. server down, lack of some features, server slow). Just beware of some sales puffs(e.g. 100% uptime guarantee, lifetime money back guarantee) which may not be true.

Sweet guys, I'm going to try out hawkhost. They have a 40% sept deal off, I'm pick up a 6 month hosting package.

Worst comes to worst I refund it
