    Mail Archiving Appliance

    Hey,

I'm doing some research on Mail archiving appliances. We run a Zimbra Mail system here and we'd like to get a secondary unit such as a Barracuda Message Archiver to save messages onto. Does anyone have recommendations for different options for this?

    Ricky,
It would all depend on what your environment looks like and what you would like to achieve which would determine what product would work best for your environment.

Have you tried contacting Barracuda directly and speak with one of their SA's?

    Cheers,
    Daryl

Does it have to be a ready to go device? This could be accomplished with some open source software.

We've got a couple of the Barracuda units, they're pretty decent.

Another product, though not in appliance form, is Symantec's Enterprise Vault. You need to build out a server or two for it (we've got a few front end servers and a san for this purpose) but the software is fantastic in what it does.
