PLease recommend a hosting company (except downtownhosting)

Hi:

I just need a host company where technically can support an installation of joomla.

I have a website running joomla on downtownhosting.com and lately they are having problems with their systems and are blaming my website to cause a problem. I have stopped all processes in my website and I have monitored their systems and even logging using ssh is very slow. I have changed my index files on main directory and redirected to a simple "hi" html page and I have tried to access mysql and returned that no more connections are available.

The only solution they find is to ask me to modify queries because they are hanging in mysql's queue. I have almost the double of visitors during the day and there is no problem and always during 9:00 - 11:00pm there is a problem.

thanks

Hello A

We blame your site because your site is the cause, you said that you terminate your process, however, when we restarted Mysql (you had queries running for over 15 minutes), immediately after Mysql come back you had 17 queries running. Therefore, your process were still running. I'm very sorry if you don't want to believe us, but we showed you today the queries that your site were running immediately after a mysql restart, if your process were all dead and you set your site in maintenance mode then why are those mysql queries running?.
I wont double discuss this with you, we are already doing it on the ticket that you have open with us, however, I wanted to clarify that.

I had a Joomla website (talonai.com) and it was hosted with DTH. The site itself is rather simple one - but still I had no problems while hosting/upgrading/modyfying it. Maybe you should talk with DTH support or Jedito directly.
Now, to your question. Every host (I think) would support Joomla, that's for sure. However, there are questions about disk space, bandwith, price and other special requirements.

Sometimes, you don't even know what's wrong with the applications you use. They just function weird. So you may have to check out what is wrong with it.

I suppose that you need to understand the problem in full. What was the reason etc. That is very important as in the future you may have the same problems with your current provider.

1. You can consider getting a VPS if your requirement really exceeded what a shared hosting environment can contain
2. You might want to try mediatemple.net since they are quite generous on their grid server. search around and u can find 20% coupon disc for recurring bills

at most hosts, technical support for joomla is not covered under their services. you may be able to find a rep that is kind enough to help you out of his own good will, but a host's support is usually limited to the server, network, and possibly the OS.
