Thumbs down to GoDaddy
When we started out, we had all of our domains and SSL certificate with GoDaddy; and about three-four years ago moved everything over to Namecheap.
Transferred everything over (domains etc) and closed our account. Yet some how they did not cancel PayPal billing agreement for themselves when you cancel your account with them.
So long story short; we got billed for something a month ago and filled a dispute with PayPal directly (canceling billing agreement from 2003(!) with GoDaddy).
That's fine right? They will surely see that last payment we made was in 2003 and we no longer have an account with them (I also explained this to them via dispute).
Not for GoDaddy, they have responded with following to PayPal.
Tracking Company: Intangible item
Tracking Number: Intangible item
Seriously?
Here you go, keep the money and enjoy this review.

Check out all the horror stories on nodaddy.com. You're not the first to be screwed over by them.

Yeah, I would recommend to check out webhostinggeeks before making a strategic decision (they have reviews for web host and domain registrars). Personally, I had good experience with godaddy, but I heard similar stories to this one more then enough.

I just had a ssl get renewed for a domain I no longer own, kinda flamed them in an email. They very politely responded, and my money was returned in 3 days -- so I am still mixed on them. y b iggest complaint is their shopping cart is such a pain!!!

To OP, I do believe the burden to terminate a paypal subscription is on your head, this is why you can cancel any or all from within your PayPal account. Honestly, the first thing I do after terminating an account that has PP subscribe is to cancel it. That done, they can't successfully charge you again.
I've used GoDaddy for domain / DNS for years and years, with no issues....I tested hosting, and they do suck at anything else, but really, I've managed my, and literally hundreds of customers GoDaddy account, opening them, closing them, transferring internally, from, and to GD, I've just not experienced any issues with their primary biz focus, which is domain registration and management. I chalk it up to the hundreds of thousand of accounts they manage, and simple percentages of "mad" customers, and clients that don't actually understand what they are doing. Just my .02.

Agreed. You the OP should have cancelled the subscription, not GoDaddy.
With that said i'm not a GoDaddy fan, their marketing is in poor taste and they have a checkered history of interfering with domain holder rights.

Well one question I want to ask from OP is did you contact their support before you filled the PP dispute ?
I have used them for 8 years and still have 50+ domains there. Haven't had too many problems with them.

Stacie, you indeed should have canceled subscription on your own. I am not GD fan either but in this situation it isn't their fault, sorry to say that.
