Hi everybody. I'm looking for advise.

Have a large wpmu website with about 900 blogs. No subdomains; chose for the root/blogname option.

For flexibility, it would be nice if we could create a site specifically for the home page. We are thinking of a Joomla install with links to the blogs. Does anyone know if it's possible to host the home page from a different site than the current wpmu install?

Is it possible to move one of the installs to a different directory and still have both of them working properly? Any other solutions?

I think this might cause a lot of issues, that's why I come to you for advise

You can set your homepage to a static page and have your blog on another in wordpress by default. You may want to try this?

You need to transfer the WP blog to your subdomain. see this
