hosting advice

I am looking for a good hosting for a site which provides -
1. php/mysql.
2. one click install for zen cart, joomla, wordpress and oscommerce.
3. 2 GB space and 50 GB bandwidth.
4. allow multiple domains.
5. good control panel preferably cpanel.

Thanks for your advice.

Many shared hosting plans can satisfy your needs. Just google for them or check out the advertising forum.

What's your budget -- this shouldn't be an issue at all. If the host doesn't have one click installs (Fantastico) they probably will still install it for you since those are so simple, but most Linux hosts use Fantastico.

Well of course the offer section would be helpful to you. The web space/bandwidth you are looking for won't be a problem. The real problem might be the multiple domain part. As most hosts have their smallest/personal plans setup with 1-5GB space (which is what you need). But they do not offer multiple domains unless you buy a little more expensive package. But you can use different options like park domains or redirect etc.

Sorry, I could not login because of health problems. Thanks a lot for your advice. This time i wanted to test some other host but after thinking a bit I decided to go for another account with hostgator.
I am also looking for some good UK based cpanel shared hosting for one of my clients. I will really appreciate your valuable inputs.
This is a simple php/mysql site requiring below 100 MB space .

Hows hostgator going for you?

I suggest using Softaculous for your instant wordpress installs since Softaculous is pretty much always up to date..

But in all honesty theres nothing better than installing wordpress manually do to the fact that you can delete certain files while your at it for security such as the install files etc..

Wordpress is highly exploitable so i would be extra cautious with it. How ever hostgator is a great host for wordpress they keep up to date.

I am happy with hostgator. That is why i went for one more account with them. In almost one year i never had any problem with them. Their support for tickets takes hours but other than that they are really good.
I do not need hosting for wordpress only. There are so many things i need at different subdomains.
For UK hosting i have never searched. That is why i was looking for advice. I am comfortable with cpanel. SO i will prefer cpanel hosting in UK which can provide UK based IP.

Glad to hear that you are happy with hostgator. They do have a quite good reputation here. And about your cPanel UK host, you can have a look at the offer section. And what sort of budget do you have in mind?

This is a very simple basic site with php and mysql which needs less than 100 MB space and very less bandwidth. But we need very good uptime as the site is to be promoted via adwords also.

Where your website is hosted is one of the most important decisions you will make. Do not skimp on free hosting, to be a successful internet business a free host will not do.

Bite the bullet and get some professional webspace. It will stand you in good stead for the future expansion of your site.

There are literally thousands of hosts out there, so how do you choose?

Firstly draw up a list of what technical spec you need. Make sure your hosting can expand with you. Check that it is easy to upgrade if you wish. We thoroughly recommend Unix/Linux servers. Stay away from NT servers, there have been a number of virus outbreaks in recent years attributed to the security vulnerability of IIS/NT. *nix servers are generally well known for their robust and secure operating systems and are used by the majority of the professional web design/development industry.

What you should be looking for is reliability, network speed (throughput) and flexibility. Of course all hosting companies will claim they are all of these, so it's worth getting some independent advice before going ahead.

I understand you're looking for a basic 100MB hosting plan based in the UK, correct?

What's your budget? It's difficult to provide recommendations and suggestions without a budget.

There is no budget. We are not looking for something free or very cheap but we also do not need expensive hosting. Something reasonable and good uptime.
