PayPal & WHMCS not auto accepting payments

When a client pays an invoice in WHMCS, paypal doesn't auto accept it.I have to manually accept it. Any clue why?

    Thats weird...

Have you logged into your paypal account to see if you are even getting the money?

It is possible you typed the email incorrect in the set up of the payment gateway...

    Hi Semoweb,

I get the payment OK, I just have to login to paypal and confirm that I want that payment.

Now, payments are sent in USD and when I click accept, it asks me to transfer the amount to GBP. Could this be causing it?

Yup that is a PayPal issue that is causing this... If it is asking you if you to accept the payment..

Also if it is an E-Check WHMCS will not create the account until it is cleared.

But if it isnt an E-Check... In your PayPal Payment Receiving Preferences, make sure the following items are NOT set to "Ask Me" and see how it goes

My guess is you don't have an IPN set within PayPal. To do this:

    1) - In PayPal click on Profile

    2) - Click on "Instant Payment Notifications" under Selling Preferences

    3) - Turn IPN on and set the URL to
    Code:
    http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/WHMCS-PATH/modules/gateways/callback/paypal.php
    4) - Should work fine now.

IPN isn't necessary for WHMCS, or any up to date script. Any script using paypal's payment system any more uses callback urls, not IPN. I haven't even TOUCHED my IPN in years, thought it was set to something else, but found out it's blank. Never once have I had a problem with paypal, however.

If by 'auto accept', you mean automatically create the package, look at your payment and package settings.

WHMCS does use the PayPal IPN. When a client makes a payment it sends the callback URL for the IPN with each payment request automatically. All you need to make sure is that the IPN option is enabled in your PayPal account.

PayPal no longer allow you to leave the Callback URL blank in your account settings which they used to, so if you activated it some time ago you might have the URL blank. But they no longer allow this, so we recommend clients enter their WHMCS system URL.

If you happen to change your URL, you have to contact PayPal to update your stuff or you'll end up with plenty of IPN failures.

Also are you setup with a business PayPal account or personal?
