Your server is miami, right?

root@miami [~]# uptime
3:32am up 133 days, 18:11, 2 users, load average: 1.53, 0.79, 1.33
root@miami [~]#

P3 1Ghz, 1GB RAM with Verio connectivity, backed up by Williams/Cogent. I think that's pretty good. Your server had excellent uptime, i don't know what the problem is.

They are coming out of the woodwork here. Have they just been bad recently, or always have been, and it's just coming to head now?

For a P3 1Ghz w/ 1GB ram that's actually a very nice load average. I doubt any sites would notice a slowdown because of the hardware usage.

Sincerely,

Well, he did say "cheap slow bandwidth". These are the cheapest tier 1 providers around. Slow? Cogent, read to find out. Williams, read to find out. Many complaints here alone. We use all three of these too so we know sometimes people get crappy routes. Some customers do complain when their routes run through certain Williams and Cogent routes. If you are running BGP, then you cannot guarantee Verio eveytime. It will look for the quickest route. If Verio is dropping somewhere and they go to the others, well.....

I have no idea if this is happening, just pointing out his use of the word "Cheap" can be valid as well as his complaint about speed.

Still, we use Verio, and 99% of the time, they are fast, and availabile. I would not use Cogent if my life depended on it at this point, but it is the king of "cheap" bandwidth. Do not forget about AT+T Ethernet connections, they are cheaper than Verio now.... (At least here in KC)

what's with people and making damaging claims against someone without providing any valid proof?

So you've already been shown to be fussy on the "under powered servers" complaint by other valued hosts in this forum, and you show no proof of "slow bandwidth" Post some traceroutes, ping times, anything... validate your claim!

It's a Williams line, however DV2 are having problems with this connection (search the forums) so the pings are bound to be slightly higher around that node.
