Question

Plesk & RH 8.0?

Can 8.0 be used with Plesk 2.5? Also with RH 7.3 is Perl the only package to exclude when installing?

Please advise.

No you cannot use plesk 2.5 with RH 8.0. Check the plesk forums http://forum.plesk.com/

Yea I checked there but ever since they redid the site its hard to find this information on the forums. Also does anyone know besides Perl 5.6.1 which packages to not install?

apache?
php?

Thanks for your help.

PLESK PSA will not work with red hat 8.0 period. Unless of course you want to downgrade so many packages, by the time you are done it will seem like you are back on 7.3. You also lose any support you may have been able to get for not using a supported OS.

As for the packages, add perl and mm to your pkgskiplist for up2date if you are still on 7.2 or 7.1. If you are on 7.3 you may need to downfrade perl and mm. On 8.0 you will need to downgrade a lot. This is if you are using the rpm version. If you are using standard you would also not install any thing that plesk includes. ie. apache, mysql, qmail, bind, php, etc

I got Plesk to work on RH 8.0 but it wasn't easy, nor can I recommend it cause it might become unstable or so...
