    Thank you all!

Thank you all! It had been a pretty busy nights for me and moreover, for my wife. If I count it right, 54 hours in pre-labor period, 20 hours in active labor including 7 hours of "pushing" the baby. In the last 48 hours before the baby is finally delivered, she only had a total of 3-4 hours of sleep. After only 2 hours of "pushing", she was already exhausted esepcially since she was prohibited from eating anything since she came to the hospital. But I am amazed of what a woman can do! Not sure where that energy comes from, but she did manage to deliver the baby. I am so proud of her.

So NexDog, thanks ... But I was doing nothing except holding my wife's hands and gave some support. So, my wife is really the one that should take all the credit Good luck with your third one

Back to taking more and more pictures. BTW, Sonny MVC CD-400 is quite a nice digital camera. The camera records on CDR/CDRW (small format). Although the size is not small, I am very satisfied with the quality of the camera. And, this camera is capable of taking around 27 minutes of 320x200 mpeg movie and around 87 minutes in 120x116 resolution. Very nice feature! I have the recording of when my baby is born, in a movie (don't ask me to share it though )

Is it normal for a woman to be in labor that long? I'm not very good at knowing about child birth

As someone said: "welcome to the club"

I guess, it is all just ahead of you - I mean at least three months of sleepless nights. But after that, just pure enjoyment. You can take from father of 2 years old.

    Regards!

    Congrats Dave..

Mine is 5 months old now and not a minute goes by that I do thank the heavens for having him. No matter how stressful the day is or how bad things are going I know when I see him there is a laugh waiting for me. Nothing can relieve the stress of a bad day like a baby smile and laugh.

You are a lucky man, give that wife of yours lots of love and attention over the next few months and most of all ENJOY your gift together.

    Ah, somebody noticed that

30 minutes after the baby was born, they noticed that there were still some amount of water in his lung. This causes the baby to breathe at three times the rate of normal baby (he was doing 60-70 respirations per minute). Thus, they had to give oxygen to the baby and put all these monitor gadgets on his chest. Because of this, the baby can't be fed and hence the IV tube was in place.

hope every thing is ok and wish you, your wife and your new son the very best.
Yes, everything is wonderful now. The baby is making sure that we have as little sleep as possible

That was something I wondered about. I believe I was born bald too. I think it may be due to the vitamins that they gave the moms during pregnancy

Dave, I've said this before, but again congrats mate! If the wife keeps on pestering me we might have one of them lil creatures in a year or so.. oh the torture!
Beau, you congratulated me when the baby was not yet born!
And ... yea, get your own baby soon. It will be a great addition to your life. A torture, yes. A blessing, for sure!
