Do you require any specific location? This would surely narrow down the provider results.

Ideally you want to look for a Xen, KVM etc. based VPS - you need proper resource isolation for game servers, so be sure to avoid OpenVZ based VPS.

Decent budget, but I would probably increase to $40/mo for the 1.5GB RAM.. Is your RAM requirement guaranteed or burst?
Check out the offers section..

What are you talking about??? Resource isolation? OpenVZ has less overhead and better performance than Xen, KVM host tend to have cpu spikes often because the load balancing control on KVM is poor, that is unless its a "hybrid" where an entire CPU core is dedicated to his machine. And you will not find that in his budget.

OpenVZ can't give you best performance. Look for Xen, KVM.

I would be open to both OpenVZ and Xen both, just be sure if it is OpenVZ to check out the provider. The benefit from Xen is the server wont as easily be oversold, if the server is properly maintained and not oversold OpenVZ will do you just fine. Xen probably will be more expensive due to licensing costs.
My suggestion just go with a known provider that you trust wont oversell.

xen tend to be resource dedicated and more stable and reliable. recommend to go with xen.
openvz most of the time affected by other user on the burst memory.

You obviously don't know what your talking about. Xen is Paravirt, it has the overhead of 2 kernels. OpenVZ jails the process and it runs on the BARE METAL kernel, your going to tell me there's something faster than a bare metal process?
I've used it all, KVM, Vmware, Xen, OpenVZ, Virt Box, Qemu,HyperV,Sun xVM. OpenVZ is by far the fastest form of virtualization available. If its a good provider they most likely don't oversell the node to affect the users performance. Everyone acts like overselling is this totally nasty awful thing. If you monitor your nodes you won't have a problem.

No doubt OpenVZ is a very powerful virtualization, however it tend to easily oversell by some of the host and overloaded by some the user on the node. As mentioned, when the resources overloaded, it will affect other user.

To be honest you should set your budget along the lines of $75+ per month so you can get something with a Dedicated CPU Core. Seeing as how game servers generally run better that way when virtualized. i.e. so other users on the server sharing your cores dont lag you out.
