Stay away from synhost.eu and igsobe.com
i have been a customer for the last 6months (since Jan 2010) and have nothing but trouble. first up, i have a VPS, it was ordered, i recieved this fairly quickly as it was automatic setup. logged in and installed, configured and ran what i needed on my vps. only a few weeks later they migrated/changed my vps to a miami host with igsobe. i was fine with this, but upon them migrating my data, they crashed my vps and lost everything before i had chance to back anything up. i was never notified by ticket or email of the migration taking place, i only found out after a very evasive talk via their irc.igsobe.com channel #support. to try and get a straight answer was like trying to get blood from a stone, it just didnt happen. anyway, i asked for compensation or a refund, which they offered an upgrade of my vps considering what happened. i agreed and it took 7+ days for my new vps to be setup. i have multiple ip's, and since the migration (that didnt happen), i needed to update/change my reverse dns, which took them a day or two. since obtaining the new vps that is hosted in miami via igsobe.com, ive had nothing but problem after problem after problem. on their website (synhost) they guarentee 99% uptime, which is very far from the truth to say the least. ive had numerous of numerous of downtime that each time has lasted 72+ hours each, so far i have encountered 5 major downtimes in 6 months. many times i have been unable to access client area to forward/submit a ticket to synhost, as when their servers are down, everything is offline, synhost.ey, client area, dns, mx(email), etc. so i cant even send an email to them. my only option was to send numerous emails to support@igsobe.com, which i never got any replies from. i asked for support from their irc network, but again was completely ignored. after saying a few profanities in their irc channel is the only time when i did receive a response, and then it was entirely sarcasm and no constructive help at all. nothing! i am completely fed up with this company igsobe and synhost. within the last couple of weeks i have had again a major downtime of 7 days (168+hours) of downtime, i could only contact via support@igsobe.com after a few days, as cogent pulled the plug on this company. lost their hosting, ip allocations, everything. and again i only found this out after many many days of hassling, as i couldnt get a straight answer as usual. this company is now with mzima for service and ip allocation, meanwhile my vps/server was offline for the 7+ days, dns still wasnt updated for synhost.eu, nor anything else, so i could not find out my new allocated ip's for my vps. after 5 days i did actually finally speak to someone via irc.igsobe.com and they managed to find my allocated ip's so i was able to tracert to get the ip to login to my hypervm web terminal, edit my server configs for the new ips and then were able to login. *such a damn hassle*. none the less, 1 person was able to help me greatly. within 30mins of my request, he was able to sort it for me, and i sorted the rest with some work on my behalf. next comes the reverse dns entries again, as all my ip's changed, so forward dns was updated, and now i wait for rdns to be corrected. i did ask via irc channel as well as submitting a ticket via the client area. days past and still nothing was done. i talked to someone via irc and i was told it was 'done'. it was not. then i logged in to check my support ticket, and it had been deleted by their staff. so again i submitted a second ticket requesting my rdns be updated, resolved names and corresponding ips were sent so they could be set up. another 4 days now since my second ticket, and still nothing is resolving. from my experiences with john (igsobe) and sebastian (synhost), they are very incompetent people, that tell you want you want to hear, and then do what they want, when they want, and do not care about us, the customer. promises were made, and never kept. alot of discussions were had, and most were just derogatory comments, sarcasm, or something totally irrelevant to the situation at hand. as soon as my subscription expires, i will move my business elsewhere to a respected company. something totally opposite of what igsobe and synhost are. i have read on many forums regarding igsobe and there has been nothing but negative comments, and i now know this from first hand experience. i urge you to not do business with igsobe and synhost unless you want to be utterly disappointed, frustrated and ignored by their staff. im just another disgruntled customer who has paid for a service and has not received what i have paid for.
stay away from this company!

It was kind of hard to read your review because everything is so cluttered together.
Im sorry for your bad experience, I personally would have moved on way earlier, when the second problem arised. Anyways, I wish you best of luck to find a better provider.

SYNhost is an entirely different company than IGSOBE with no real relation other than sharing network resources. I've stated this to you a total of 9 times via IRC the past 6 weeks. As a courtesy, I've relayed messages to the Synhost staff for you in the past to try to get you a faster response time to be helpful, but my efforts stopped after your ongoing and continued usage of profanity on our IRC server that was directed at those trying to help you.
IGSOBE has never received a penny from you as payment for your services. Your complaint is with Synhost. I can appreciate your interest in causing a loss of business, but there's really no reason to post this complaint on a biweekly basis - you're angry and we understand. Your previous complaint listed the IP addresses of customers running Torrent applications. It would be my belief that most providers would have suspended you weeks ago for scanning our network and posting customer information on a public forum. Since they let it go, you must be angry about that as you're writing another complaint message full of misinformation and manipulating a planned network migration and upgrade (Packet Exchange 10GB Uplink > Cogent 1 GB Link) as a bad thing.
Once again - IGSOBE is unrelated to your complaint with SYNHost. There are dozens of service providers who use our network, they are one of many. I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with them and wish you luck in the future.

ok. 1st up, it was YOUR employee/associate/whatever that gave me that information, i did not scan the network. he private messaged me on your irc network irc.igsobe.com and revealed to me without even a mention on my part  . as for posting customer information? it was an ip address and port that is open to the public via http access. the last time i checked, pirated material is illegal, and it is running and downloading onto your server via the torrent program and your network (at the time i clicked the link there were pirated movies in the torrent list downloading). i read previously on a wht forum thread that you denied/removed that customer from your network due to breach of terms, yet your staff has the ok to do exactly the same? very poor judgment on your part.
next is the 'misinformation?'. from discussions again on your irc network irc.igsobe.com, i was told by staff/acquaintances only recently that "Cogent pulled the plug for no apparent reason" (i do have logs to prove this, and im sure your network logs will show the same). not once were any of synhost or igsobe customers/clients notified before this apparent "planned network migration" when Cogent decided to pull the plug on your company.
on the most current downtime that lasted 7+ days, i was never notified of anything regarding via email, ticket, irc chat, nothing.
if you are referring to the initial migration where i lost all my data, yes i received a email, and it was already too late to backup my data as the server was already down, too bad for me as i lost it, now i just expect the worst.
from previous discussions, synhost.eu was purchased/bought out/obtained by igsobe.com as statements from staff showed.
when you run a business in which you provide a service to paying customers, and the customers are kept in the dark and totally ignored or told that 'there's nothing wrong, it must be you' or 'it will be fixed within the next few hours', and 5 days later after numerous emails and support tickets with no response and the problem(s) still exist, it does wear thin.. very thin. im tired of excuses, im tired of a poorly run and managed business, im very tired of NO customer support.
i just want what i signed up and paid for, that's all i and many others have wanted, the service that your web page synhost.eu and igsobe.com boasts about. so far the service that has been provided falls short of anything even 'mediocre'.
i am only one of many customers that have dealt with synhost and igsobe, and i have also witnessed discussions 1st hand of other disgruntled customers that i can very much relate with. i am not out to hurt your businesses, this is an honest review of bad personal experience i have had when dealing with this company.
