    Cross Country Private Line Pricing

We are looking for 1Gbps line between LA and Virginia. We are pretty agnostic to the technology and relatively insensitive to latency (not a trading shop). Any ideas what this should run us? and from whom?

HE.net has some good transport pricing. You might also check with AboveNet.

This is about accurate with outside companies as well.

I know fiberlight can do a gigE from anywhere to anywhere with in the use for 2,700/month. I have a contact there if you would like her information I am sure she would like to talk to the OP.

Realistically you can figure 2500-4000/Month for a proper gigE point to point that is not oversubscribed to hardies and back. I know Fiberlight and related companies that offer 10G waves etc will not oversubscribe the circuits, they more than likely use a wave type of service and mux/demux it on their ends.

Everyone else you encounter will do Q-in-Q if you are lucky or their "MPLS" at which point you'll be running over a more than likely oversubscribed circuit.
