I have a website on this VPS and I'm running WHMCS but i dont have CPanel...

how do i setup a mail system so i can properly read/send emails and pipe them into WHMCS?

so i did some reseach and is Exim the service I need that will allow me to send and recieve mails to certain inboxes? or would i want to use postfix?

Hello,

Exim will act as the mail server, but you will need to configure a lot things to specify the mail folder , domain name e.t.c , Are you sure your vps dont have any mail system installed by default in it ? If the service provider is providing it you can check with them.

I'm sure. I've got no control panel of any kind and I would like to keep it that way.

So Exim acts as the mail service which sends mail in and out, then I'll need something else which will send the mail to the correct mailboxes?
