The dmesg command contains most of that information for you. To see the full output execute: dmesg | more

    To check the RAM:

    dmesg | grep Memory

    To check the CPU:

    dmesg | grep CPU0
    or
    cat /proc/cpuinfo

Are you executing the command as "root" OR you are on a VPS? On a dedicated server, you should execute it as root AND on a VPS, you should ask your hosting provider to execute the command on the main host server.

Well, as said above, you have to execute the command on the host server your VPS is on.

Nilesh, Thoses are files and not commands. you need to open these files and cannot execute them as commands. Use cat or Vi to open the files.

    cat /proc/cpuinfo
    cat /proc/meminfo
    free -m

Your VPS does not have direct access to the hardware, and will likely be unable to return specific information about the hardware in use, such as the information that can typically be obtained from "dmidecode" or "lshw". As mentioned previously in this thread, you would need to contact your host for these details, since they have direct access to the physical server.
