Linux server information
Hi,
How to check server information via SSH for example
how to check RAM size & vendor, processor etc...

The dmesg command contains most of that information for you. To see the full output execute: dmesg | more
To check the RAM:
dmesg | grep Memory
To check the CPU:
dmesg | grep CPU0
or

To check RAM size and usage:
To check CPU informationfree -m
To check the server hardware information, executecat /proc/cpuinfo
If the package is not installed, install it using the command:dmidecode
yum install dmidecode| LinuxHostingSupport.net

Well, as said above, you have to execute the command on the host server your VPS is on.

Your VPS does not have direct access to the hardware, and will likely be unable to return specific information about the hardware in use, such as the information that can typically be obtained from "dmidecode" or "lshw". As mentioned previously in this thread, you would need to contact your host for these details, since they have direct access to the physical server.
