cpanel assigning wrong ip
Where does cpanel store it's information that it's going to assign to new addon domains?
My /etc/wwwacct.conf file had the wrong ip address on the first line and now that account creates addon domains with the wrong addy. I've edited the wwwacct.conf file and tried re-adding the domain from that account but it's still now working so i'm under the assumption that whm uses that file when creating the cpanel account.. cpanel then stores that info somewhere and never looks at wwwacct.conf again.
I could fix it by terminating that account, but i'd rather just edit where ever it stores the info since I created some addon domains under this account already - I did fix the others so far using 'change ip address' in whm, but now that i've changed all those, the only way to fix this one is to switch all of the domains under that account to the 2nd ip address on the box which would make lots of work and propogation issues
Soo.. if you follow what my problem is.. can ya help me out with some info?
Thanks!
Rob

Hi,
Check the file /var/cpanel/users/username. You can change the ip address for the domain in that file.
Also when changing the ip make sure that you make necessary changes in the DNS and apache conf file too.

Addon domain in cpanel is actually a subdoman with ServerAlias added to this subdomain for the actual added domain. The IP used the main domain will be assigned to the addon domain. The IP associated with the main domain will be taken by the cpanel from the httpd.conf file. Again the addon domain info will be shown in the /var/cpanel/users file as follows.
DNS1=sub1.domain.com
DNS2=sub2.domain.comDavid | www.cliffsupport.com
