Thumbs down

Stay away from Serverloft

So i will write my 6 months experience (one of my worst experiences) with Serverloft. But i will be fair so i will both write positive and negative sides.

Positive Sides

1-) They don't charge for server setup, so their server prices are average. (That's the point i got tricked)

2-) Their control panel is shiny , but doesn't worth anything when support sucks

I think that's it for positive side..

Negative Sides

1-) Their support sucks "extremely". It is an unmanaged server i am aware of it, that's why you don't need support that much (you are wrong about it). Because you need support when they mess up something by themselves, and they don't know how and what they did it. I had a 72 hours of downtime because of unknown reason of network problem.

They never reply to tickets, there is something called Hotline, it says its for Support, but it turns out that it's for Sales. I had to call them every time and tell them to ask their tech guys to respond to a ticket because i didn't get answer for 12 hours.

2-) The only good thing support does is sending abuse tickets. They threaten you to disconnect your server if you don't respond to them in 12 hours. And they are in USA and i am at Europe, so there is 8 hours difference. And they don't care about it.

3-) I got 5 or 6 abuse warnings for different sites (i am hosting around 100 sites), and at last one they told me to go away because i cause too much abuse things.

4-) They are in the mood like, we have a lot of costumers so we don't care if we loose one more customer. They can send an email like we are cancelling your server right now and you won't access to it (happened once because of abuse issue). They even threaten to disconnect your server if your site is infected with iframe virus and if you are not aware of it (happened once again)

So finally...

Serverloft is one of the worst options for buying hosting solutions. As they say that they are acting "professional", but it's not close to it at all. If professionalism is covering your own side and doesn't care about customer, yeah they are very professional.

Had an issue about copyright, and because of my attitude (angry moment of me) they decided to cancel my server instantly. I had to apologize so they changed their mind.

They disconnected and going to cancel my server in 2 hours, without refunding anything because of their weird TOS.

But i am happy that i am getting rid of them. And if you are unsure like i was 6 months before, because there isn't that much feedback about serverloft, this one would be a good one for thumbs down.

Oh, i read another thread at WHT about few more customers that their servers get cancelled instantly, so serverloft is popular about server cancellation.

Last words ... Never ever work with Serverloft !

Edit : I forgot to mention, they offered 1 month free hosting for their 72 hours of downtime for unknown reason...

I totally agree with you, they shut down one of our servers for abuse too. Sad they haven't changed that policy yet.

My favorite is they are expecting 12 hours of response when they create abuse or copyright ticket. And they barely answer to tickets in less than 12 hours.

They don't care if there is time difference, or if you are not online, they are just interested about cancelling servers

I know (we had horror nights).
I really dont wanna share because i get angry only when i remember.

How would be if their bandwidth providers will block connections for every bad traffic? hahaha

Its just comic, really. =)

I find it very strange that you act like that on these abuse reports. I mean it is very normal when you have 100 clients, some of them to screw up and host illegal files. However, if you made a statement to your customers that you will purge each account which got abuse report, than everything will be fine. Serverloft get abuse report, they send it to you. You check if it is correct information and terminate the client's account. If not, you explain it to them. It's as simple as that. Of course there is another side of the store. For example if you promised to your clients that you are 'off-shore' and you don't care about the DMCA reports. In this case, it is your fault.
By the way, these days almost each provider who want to stay in the business, deal with abuse reports in time frame of 12 hours. You live in Europe? Who cares? If you want to do business you deal with problems. Time zone is not an excuse.

Shutting down customers if they do not reply within 12 hours is a bad business practice imho. 24 hours is much more reasonable and the world is still not going to end.

If the customer is a regular customer without support staff, it can happen that he will be away for more than 12 hours (sleeping, on an airplane, whatever...).

I'd be extremely frustrated to see my server suspended if I checked my email after having been offline to take a long nap.

Sad to hear your negative experience with them.
I hope you do some research on the next host you will be doing business with

ServerBoost, actually i did some research about Serverloft before i work with them. But there wasn't many feedbacks about them, just some of the people saying their support is slow and one customer with cancelled server. I didn't know that they suck "this much"

Sorry to hear your bad experience with them. I think the 12 hour responding time for abuse tickets is not a good practice, a minimum of 24 hours should be provided to sort the things out.

I have 2 servers at serverloft, 1 is a cheap one for around 99 euro or something. The other one is a 179 euro server (both in EU)

The expensive one runs smoothly, there is never any problems with it. But the cheap the connection goes off for like 5 min's once or twice a week...

Their support always replies back to me within 1-5 hours (even on the cheap one)
