VPS Farm Cloud Servers Public Beta

VPS Farm is pleased to announce that our cloud servers service is ready for public beta testing. We are still working on completing the documentation, API and adding additional images. Changes will be made during the beta but we will avoid making changes to the virtual server hosts, network, and storage to minimize downtime.

    Public Beta Plans:

    IAD.1G:
    1GB RAM
    80GB Disk
    $0.03 (3 cents) /hour

    IAD.4G:
    4GB RAM
    80GB Disk
    $0.12 (12 cents) /hour

    Bandwidth:
    Incoming: $0.00/GB (free)
    Outgoing: $0.05/GB (5 cents)

The cloud servers run Linux KVM virtualization.

also, can upgrades/downgrades be scheduled, kinda like in cron? we have a client with a daily bulletin with 35.000 subscribers (double opt in) and we would like to be able to send his bulletin faster, assigning more resources when it's sent on the morning.

    Is that possible?

Each virtual server is given one core regardless of memory size.

The API is still being worked on and will be available shortly. Once it is available, a small shell script can easily create new virtual servers on demand and delete them when they are no longer needed. We do rate limit outbound SMTP so we may not be the best option for sending a large amount of emails.

We use a custom developed cloud management software and the cloud servers are virtualized using Linux KVM. The physical hosts use Nehalem 55xx class CPUs.
