How to verify Xen VPS,not openvz

    I'm relatively new VPS user.
I have ordered Xen VPS from some company. But, i think what i get is openvz, not Xen.
    Here are my reasons :
    ************************
    1. I can't add swap file to my VPS
    book.xen.prgmr.com/mediawiki/index.php/Creating_Swap_File
According to that link and many others, we can add swap file to Xen VPS.

    2. In my linode Xen VPS,my net interface is eth0. In this VPS,i get venet0 and venet0:0, that is similar to my openvz vps in different company.
    I submitted a ticket,still no response for 3 hours.
    Anyone can explain ?
    THanks before

venet0 is openvz. If /proc/user_beancounters exists then it is definitely openvz.

Perhaps they provisioned you a openVZ VPS by accident? Have you tried contacting your host regarding this issue?

    Yes, maybe.
And maybe we have miscommunication since i'm not english native.
As mentioned in my first post,i have contacted them and still got no response. Now,i get response. They said that i ordered OpenVZ,not Xen

This is my product detail, before they replied my ticket :

They insist that i order OpenVZ because this line "Server Location: US - New York (OpenVZ Only In USA)" in order form.
But, i choose Xen in virtualization option. You can see by yourself from the product details "Server System: Xen Paravirtualization"

After some debate, they change product details to :

Yeah, server system changed from Xen to OpenVZ.
Because i'm not english native, can someone tell me the interpretation of "Server Location: US - New York (OpenVZ Only In USA)" ? is it mean :
    - in USA, there is just openvz . or
    - OpenVZ only available in USA ?

Well... if it says that you can only get OpenVZ in the USA and you order a Xen VPS in the USA then the fault is on you... You can chalk it up to your English skills but ultimately it's not the provider's fault as they told you while you were ordering that you couldn't get a Xen VPS in the USA.

It is ambiguous. It could have either of these two meanings.

Well, most Xen providers give you swap of some sort...just check in your top real fast to see if you have swap or not.
