Looking for negative hosting reviews.

Hey everyone!

I'm working on a site that compiles as many BAD hosting reviews as possible. This is so hopefully new customers can make a better decision before going to this host, or that host.

I've been a member here for a few years, and I've read my fair share of negative reviews on companies that are so well known, so established. Then after reading a thread with chat logs, and discussions. After reading what went so horribly wrong, it really makes you think twice.

Anyhow, i'm not asking you to post your review here. Nor am I going to link to the site (I'm not advertising it yet, domain was purchased last night. I'm developing it now).

But if you have posted a bad review in this forum about an old host or your current host, and you would like it to get more coverage and wouldn't mind me posting it on my website then do you mind linking to the thread in here?

I'll post your original post as the review, and have a link to your original thread as well.

Thanks!

Doesn't that describe most every web hosting review site ever created? Most people don't take to posting all over the Internet in fits of mild contentment.

LULZY:

I see way more bad reviews (most from user ignorance) than good.

You've come to the right forum. There are thousands of negative reviews that have been posted to this forum. Good luck with your search.

You might want to allow the hosts a place to post their side of the story, though. In some cases, the horror story amounts of nothing more than miscommunication. If you don't offer some place for the hosts to tell their side of the story, the lawyers for the biggest hosts will get worked up.

Good idea! Better safe than sorry!

Is it violating any WHT rules if I copy original posts from angry reviewers on here, and post them to my own site (link now in sig)? I do plan on posting the original thread, so the entire story can be read.

That is very important, some bad reviews come as well from misconception of the services and responsabilities. There are customers that will even blame the host because of their children school grades.

I do believe either webhostingtalk or the user owns the thread and you would have to get permission to use them. More often then not they wouldn't do anything but better safe then sorry.

You should ask WHT. Although, I put an ad up in the Advertising forums last week and somehow it has made its way to 3 or 4 different web sites using the information from the post I made here.

Are you sure it was not indexed?

Generally fine with most places if you cite and link the source. However I'd consult the WHT rules and maybe fire out an email or two to confirm.

Search for the keywords "sucks" + "terrible" + "negative" and you should be able to compile a pretty big list.

You should just let users submit negative reviews on your web site instead of copying + pasting from here on WHT, you will have more reviews then postive.
