cPanel use user.domain.com instead of /~
Hello,
In cPanel, by default, you can reach any domain by entering hostname.com/~cpaneluser
This is a great feature for many reasons...
However - I was wondering - Is there a way to automatically use cpaneluser.hostname.com instead?
I know I can create a virtual host entry in my Apache config.. but I am looking for something automated...?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

This is a bad habit, allowing this will help a hacker to upload their stuffs and access it without a domain. It will also not count the bandwidth usage .

True.. If I was a bulk host (which were not). As a software developer we need this function.
Any ideas on how to accomplish it?

I don't think that it's possible via cPanel front end. However, you can write a custom script to add a subdomain via backend, whenever a new account is created.

Interesting
I'm also curious if that user sub-domain format can be created automatically after new user account is setup.
Anyone has done this? kindly to share?

There are several providers that already do this. Basically, the way this is typically accomplished is via a custom script executed using the /scripts/postwwwacct hook to generate the parked domain.

How, exactly, will this help a hacker "upload their stuffs" ?
