FTP uploaded incorrectly. Help!

I bought a domain name and web hosting through GoDaddy a few days ago. I set up an FTP through my network places as "ftp://www.gebhardt-designs.com" and can log into my site and upload content.

The problem I am having though is when I go to "www.gebhardt-designs.com" it says I have incorrectly uploaded. So the only way to access my site is to go to "www.gebhardt-designs.com/index.html".

What I would like to do is be able to access the index page, by just going to "www.gebhardt-designs.com". I have index.html in the root folder.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes these changes can take a few hours until the DNS re-cache. I've noticed when I make some changes on some of my personal sites, IE will usually display the changes right away, however FireFox will take a few hours to update the changes made.

Delete your temporary internet files (aka cache) in your web browser. Also set IE to always check the site first before using the cache. That may fix this issue in the future.

Use free OpenDNS.com service instead of DNS at your ISP

Another thing you might do is to discontinue using the DNS of your local ISP. I use the free OpenDNS.com DNS service. They have a bunch of servers in different U.S. and European cities. You can refresh their cache, after making changes when you think there are problems. GL

Maybe it was just caching in the browser.

You can also try flushing the DNS in your O/S.

It seems that the browser cache caused the issue. Please go through the steps in the URL:- http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser%27s-Cache
