what is more important for game servers hosting
I was just curious, what is more important for game servers, quality of inbound traffic or outbound traffic? You know, when you do traceroutes, they could be different for incoming and outgoing ones - so which ones ar emore important?

the physical machine will do more downloading than uploading so I would say outgoing traffic is way way way more important.
location is mainly the key to a good game server. after all thers no point living in mexico and having a gaming server in the UK as the latancy would just be through the roof, I blame the sea weed getting in the way
So to answer your qusetion it would be: Quality of the connection and the location for target audience which are the most important facters when hosting a game server.
Good Luck.

I would also have to say outgoing as uploading data in a game is much much more important than downloading it.

Location.
It depends if you are targeting the global users or just your locality users or players to be more specific.
So, I'd say target some good locations like India, US & UK where there are major players/gamers and you'll get the most sales.

Most important thing - Location.
Players need to tave good ping to your server. Server need to be in the same location ( continent ) such as your players.

Both equally important. If one is crap, it will affect gameplay.

Well, I think the both are equally important. And the most important thing is the customer support of the Gameserver.

Customer support is always the key.
In the GSP industry, any SMALL thing like server just got a bit choke of lag for 2 seconds or a weird lag will anger the client.
So make sure you are ready to deal with that and find out why.
Also latency and performance is also a part of it.
Most players like to compare other companies and not every single company use the same network or datacenter and some people just ping better than others due to their routing and location.
Having a choices of locations is also a good idea so they can always change it if they need to without finding a new host.
