Do you know how to administer a linux/windows server? What sort of games are you wanting to sell? Hardware-wise look for a quad core with as much ram as possible and some drives with decent space (hosting lots of different games can take up a fair bit of space) whats your budget?

Probably then your better off going with linux if you know how to administer it and only want to host cs/other steam games, as this will save any potential fee for windows and give you more budget for hardware.
Have a serious think about whether you want to use a game panel or not, there are a few around, some are free others cost a monthly fee, which will reduce your budget somewhat.
100EUR should get you a quad core server with 8gb ram, be careful how much bandwidth you are given, as you will need quite a bit so aim for ~5tb on a 100mbit port or better. Obviously if you choose to take a panel you have to pay monthly for you will be squeezing your budget somewhat tightly.

Check out vivid-hosting.net. They have some of the best game servers around and if I remember correctly the owner even has a patten on the control software they use.

May I suggest that you decide WHERE you want to host from, as it will be easier to point you in the right direction!
Secondly I suggest having a look at TCAdmin (Game Server Control Panel) to make your life easier, but will of course reduce your budget - as PingVPS mentioned above. Even if you got the skill to administrate the game servers, it's not sure your customers do.

I've thought about getting into game servers myself. I am getting ahead of myself here. When I first looked into it, it was something my reseller account provider did not allow. Is it a simple enough thing to get a server from another provider and add it to WHMCS? I thought that would make a nice addition to the service lineup I have and another potential income stream. The guy who designed the look of my site does a lot of work on gaming related sites and I saw some of those in his portfolio before I hired him. I got excited about that before I discovered it was against the rules with my current provider.

I wouldn't offer game servers unless you have the necessary experience to handle it (or are capable of hiring extra hands). And you can purchase a server and add it to WHMCS, but you will need a server control panel (such as GameCP or TCAdmin) for server management.

Not sure how much you google about your topic, but here is a basic run down. You need to get a control panel for your server OS (Linux/windows). Usally a VPS would work out great for this. After that, you need to get your server loaded with your games and connect them to your game panel. Configure your firewall and enjoy.

TCadmin would make this much easier.
You would need a Quad or better with alot of ram to make it smooth.
Windows or linux, linux is cheaper.
