I think the reason he is asking is that it costs $50 to go from 30 TB to 100 TB, but it costs $999 to go from 30 TB to 300 TB. Seems like a typo in there somewhere.

With 30TB bandwidth: $299/month
With 100TB bandwidth: +$50/month
With 300TB bandwidth: +$999/month

i.e.:
100-30 TB = 70 TB for $50, or an extra $0.714/TB
300-30 TB = 270 TB for $999, or an extra $3.70/TB

So the third tier of bandwidth is 450% more expensive than the second tier?

1. The 100TB is a special pricing to match competitors' offers.
2. A 300TB commitment means the user needs to be placed on upper-class more expensive switching equipment and will incur in additional cross connect costs (and yearly commitments to our carriers - while the dedicated contract is monthly) from us to our uplinks in order to provide them the steady 1Gbps average usage. 10GbE is exponentially more expensive than 1GbE equipment. The price reflects all those needs, from brand new NICs and 10G opticals. Those who want fixed capped 1Gbps can ask for a discount...
3. We have all the bandwidth available and immediate expansion capacity in order to cater for all the orders placed, whichever speed is ordered. When a 300TB order pops up, it will only be provisioned with the respective cross-connection added.
4. 300TB is still 1Gbps average at $1.3 per Mbps. Not a good price?
