Need some hosting help

Not sure if this belongs here or in Dedicated hosting, please let me know if it's in the wrong place.
I'm having some problems hosting a purchased Domain on my server. I purchased my Domain from GoDaddy, and I have the Domain forwarding to my External IP:80, and I also have my server (Windows Home Server) with both HTTPS and HTTP ports forwarding to it's Static IP as well as it's Static IP is in my routers DMZ. But I can not get my server to recognize the Domain name in Windows IIS nor Apache 2.2. I'm simply trying to have a "Fast Download" site for a game server I host. Basically I'll put maps and some of the game server files onto this site so people can download them from there rather than downloading them from the game server. So does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Or how I can correct this?
Thank you in advanced,
-James AKA Slygathor

Do you need the domain? Can you just set the game config to use the IP of the server to push the clients files?

I could, but I figured having the domain would be easier?

I suppose that is recommended to have domain name for any project you are planning to start.

First thing first, come up with a catchy domain name. It is always best to start from there.

Heh... not a very clear issue for me)))
Although it looks like the issue could be related to DNS settings for your domain name on a server...
Check it. Also do not forget that there is so called DNS propagation period... usually it is around 24 hours for all your changes to take affect.

Also, If you are using a home based internet connection, most ISPs will not allow servers to be ran, and have blocked ports so that it can not be done. I would start with contacting your ISP and asking them for advice. The most likely have blocked the ports required.
