I have a website at http://badassmonkeys.com/

The htaccess makes the links go to places, but its not working and it adds a /before it, it works on cpanel hosting, but not on a fresh install of apache on windows with php and mysql. I allowed mod rewrite and set AllowOverride All But it still doesnt work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I get an Internal Server Error check it out www.badassmonkeys.com

This is strange because on cpanel it works just fine but on a custom installation of apache and php on windows it doesnt. Even in other installs as WAMP or XAMPP. Maybe its a apache or php setting?

That looks ok - open up your php.ini and set magic_quotes_gpc = no

And re apply your original .htaccess - and remember to restart httpd.

I used my old htaccess since that one gave me an internal error, and i set it to Off, but still the same.

What happens when you temp remove the .htaccess - does the site load ? web app you using ?

If i remove the htaccess then you can see here http://badassmonkeys.com/ the links now go to nothing, but before it would still retain the same page but not go anywhere. I am using Apache 2.2.15 But the links are suppose to go to pages that have other content. I can show you an example of the actual running site if you want i can PM it to you the link.

It will help in generating a new .htaccess file
Keep testing till your site loads

i dont see how it can be my htaccess file because on cpanel linux hosted site the site works perfectly fine, but on a windows installed apache with php it doesnt. The htaccess doesnt let the links rewrite from what i see.

So i downloaded http://www.helicontech.com/isapi_rewrite/ and its the same exact problem on IIS. Does this mean its a phpini setting?
