Problem in Data transfer

I have a server in US and have taken another in Germany.
When transferring data from US to Germany the speed fluctuates a lot.
Sometimes it goes about 6MB/s and something is only 70-100Kb/s

The dedi manager says its some router problem (some tracerouters)

What can be the possible solution for this?

Hello,

If you're getting 6MB/s(42Mbps) I would call that good imo. However fluctuation does stink, it's more common to the sending or receiving pipes. OVH has a lot of these problems(Just using them for an example). Try working with support at both companies to try and resolve the issue, but sometimes it's out of both parties hands.

I agree with Jacob, 6MB is pretty dang good, however, the fluctuation is far to great for my liking.

What network(s) are you passing through to Germany from your provider?

If it is a one time deal, one thing you can do to mitigate the effects of latency is to open up multiple sessions to cover multiple directories.

I use a custom program that knows how to tranfer files in parallel over multiple connections while retaining file integrity.
