Since New Year's I have been burned by the following 3 providers:
Communitech - Lousy, nasty, ignorant support people
Optimal Web - E-mail stopped getting delivered. Called only to find that phone support was "discontinued" for the week. Huh?
Jumpline - My web site goes down more than a cheap prom date.
I am looking for the following for under $35/month. No extended contracts. Month to month basis. (After my experiences above can you blame me?)
*OS: UNIX
*Telnet and FTP Access
*Front Page 2000 Extensions support
*5+ POP Mail boxes
*100MB+ Disk Space
*5000MB+ Transfer rate
*Uptime and/or Service Guarantee
*CGI-bin support + included CGI scripts
*Domain name support
*24x7 customer support by e-mail or phone (Phone calls must actually be answered by living, breathing people. Nothing like Jumpline's "phone support" which is a voicemail system that they never return calls from)
*Some sort of mailing list support. Doesn't have to be MajorDomo, but some way I can send e-mail to a private list.
*DS-3 or better connectivity. Preferably OnNet or something like that hooked directly into a backbone.
Anything above and beyond always welcome.
Suggestions from any satisfied customers?
