Advice

Ok, right.

We had problems with another limited company lately, mainly because were in battle for clients and i have gained a high amount from them

My advice needed is basically, one of the directors/owners uploaded a shell on our server, we are a limited company but they uploaded a scripts with intentions to cause damage to our servers and take them offline.

If i'm right, this is illegal, what can i do to press charges or get this company taken offline for there illegal actions? I want to show them a so called professional company shouldn't do this at all. Its jelousy, its un professional and its dam right illegal.

So please WHT advise me.

Yes, It is illegal and this type of activity comes under Computer crime or cybercrime. You can press charges against the company and report to the cybercrime justice department. You will get more information about it here (http://www.justice.gov/criminal/cybercrime/ )

Make sure you have substantial proof about the pvt limited company.

Definitely Illegal . Hire a lawyer and someone who does security audits on servers, find the "script" and possibly track down who uploaded it. You should have a decent case if you can get the information needed.

Yikes, thats a bad thing to be happening to such a young company.

Would you like to name & shame them ?
Then maybe they could share there perspective on this.

I assume the 'battle for clients' is both legal & ethical, maybe you could also expand on that.

I must confess, if this had happened to me within a month of going ltd. I'd be truely miffed.
