Vps optimization & Apache suphp, dso vs fcgi

Hi,
I moved my vps to another datacenter, another server and Kloxo to Cpanel. In previous server my sites were working good. I've tried too many optimization like ELS but it uses too many Ram with low load.

I've tried fcgi but httpd process eat all ram. I am hosting my own joomla sites. Someone offers eaccelerator with dso. What do you think about it?

In php -v command i see eaccelerator but it doesn't show in joomla? What can i do?

My vps specification:
512 Mb Ram
Centos 5.4
WHM/cPanel
Core 2 Quad 2.16 cpu

cPanel eats a lot of RAM, especially compared to Kloxo.
I would be shocked if you could ever get it down to what you used to be using.

minimum to run cpanel is 256MB and the rest of the resources is for your running website and application. Do you check how many, what is process running and how many RAM used for each of them?

Hi ,

It is my understanding that suPHP and eAccelerator cannot work together. Please correct if i am mistaken.

I agree with the apache optimization as well as the mysql optimization. Also have come accross joomla sites working on older version(joomla) to be causing high load and possible security vulnirability. Better make sure that the versions of joomla are either latest or patched.

i am using newest version of joomla and components which have no security vulnirability. Now i am using dso with eaccelerator but eaccelerator doesn't show on joomla config.

Why not lighttpd and xcache? With Kloxo you can switch from Apache to lighttpd in less than 10 seconds.

512M is not enough for Cpanel + a CMS!
