many good providers around , too bad if you miss on a better deal just for the sake of having it in one location.

Where are you from?

before you sign up, ask the provider for an IP address of one of his servers.
so you can run a traceroute test and see how far away and how the route preforms for you.


to run a traceroute ( in windows )

START - > RUN

type: cmd

inside the command prompt ( black window )

type as example:

tracert google.com


then you will see an output like this:

in this way, you will be able to see from where the connection is going through and be able to spot yourself the most adequate provider.

Keep in mind, if you don't get the " XXms " numbers reply and see * instead, it is still ok - it only means the routers on the way have better things to do then to reply to your ICMP packet.

As others have said, if you're after a European based server, there are a few options that come to mind. OVH, Leaseweb, Hetzner. Or in the UK, you have PoundHost, UK2, RapidSwitch.

NL - ServerBoost, LeaseWeb, WorldStream, SwiftWay, i3d
DE - Netdirekt, Hetzner
FR - OVH/Kimsufi (Kimsufi are part of OVH, cheaper service but next to no support)

Most of those have high or average reviews on WHT, as with any host do your research on them before you place the order, and make sure they have English support (if you are english).
