Hi,

I'm a relatively new customer of Media Temple, recently registering a (gs) grid service account which normally costs $20, but I used a promo code to get a discount on that monthly fee. I've decided to move a few other sites over but I would like to have them in a separate (gs), but when I try to add that service from the existing account's control panel, it doesn't give me the option to enter the promo code. So, I tried to register a whole new account, but my account is now in "pending" status because they don't want multiple accounts registered to the same person and an email from them said I should register from my control panel.

Am I in for a hassle getting the same discount on the second account? Anyone else had experience with this? The discount represents almost $50/year, so it's worth it.

I'd be pleased to hear your thoughts and suggestions for dealing with them on Monday when they review my transaction.

You may be in for a hassle, just depends what restrictions they have placed on that promo code. A lot of times codes are only good for new signups. Just contact them and ask

I was hoping to find other folks who had come up against this and succeeded in having the promo honoured.. I'm pretty sure their automatic response will be no, which can typically be turned into a yes if you pressure them.
