Best configuration for high traffic site

Hi

I have a dedicated server with a very bussy website. The site is using php and a lot of mysql queries. Therefore I have mysql on a 2nd server. I'm using cpanel and would like to know which configuration would be the best for a high traffic website? At the moment I use Apache 2.2 with PHP 5.2.13 and apache is configured as worker and FastCgi.

The problem is, that apache is not responding anymore with about 50 Requests per second. How can I optimize this?

Thanks
Michael

Litespeed is compatible with WHM and Cpanel. It should give a nice boost to your sites.

There are ways to optimize Apache and MySQL and also Cpanel/WHM has a website optimizer module which can be setup to enable content compression which can help to boost speed. You can check http://www.cpanelconfig.com to find out how to optimize Apache and MySQL.
